    1. The 'Original' Lorenzo Dow
    2. Sue Cook
    3. Hi Everyone! Last week I got into a conversation on the Virginia Roots list about the circuit-riding preacher, Lorenzo Dow. Lots of us have a Lorenzo Dow 'Somebody' in our data. Since I have a lot of information about the 'original' Lorenzo Dow, they asked if I would post a web page about him. (He was born in 1777 and died in 1834.) Well, I ran home from work and put up the Lorenzo Dow page after supper! I hope you find it interesting. He was something! I can just see him jumping out of a church window onto a horse and riding away shouting that he would be back one year from the day! He did, too! The site is: http://www.acun.com/dentons The link to the article about Lorenzo Dow is about half way down the first page. I hope you enjoy the stories! Blessings! Sue Montgomery-Cook

    3. I am looking for information on a Sarah Elizabeth White who married a William J. Loyd on November 4th 1894.She may be connected with a Burgess White, but I am not sure. Sarah is connected with the family of Albert Mahan White and his wife Narcisis. William J. Loyd I believe is a descendant of Isham Loyd. Any information on either of these two families would be appreciated. Thank you Joe White

    3. Hi! I am new to this list and would like to contact any others that are researching the Todds that lived in Paulding County, GA in the 1860's. The census shows: John Todd 60 farmer SC (45 in 1850 Anderson Co. SC census) Lucinda 47 SC (35 ditto) think her maiden name was Wilson Mary 66 SC (John's spinster sister)(50 is 1850 SC census) James 20 SC (James D. in SC 1850 census) Jane 23 SC (Mary Jane) Margaret 19 SC (Margaret L.) 3. Hi All! I received this very nice letter from George M. and wanted to share it with you. I hope maybe some one out there might make a connection with him! I'm new to genealogy, and don't know the "ropes" yet. I have been to the family history center in Salt lake City twice, gathering some info. I am trying to do some research on the web, will out any luck so far. Other than addresses of places to contract for info., data bases with much info don't seem to exist. I'm not sure where you live in Alabama, the town my past relatives lived was Millport in Lamar county. They were on the 1820 and 1850 census, but at that time Millport was in Pickens county. I have found the Confederate Military Record for my Great grandfather (Jake Mouchette)in Salt Lake City Family History Center and know that he was in the 41st Alabama and was a corporal. I know he died in 1910 and is buried in Spring Hill Cemetery outside of Millport. Other, than that, I don't know anything about his family. I know he had many children, the only one's name I know is my Grand Fathers who was the youngest. Grand Father (George Mouchette) died in 1934. Anyway, what I'm leading up to is I think it's great that you are maintaining these web pages and my hope is that someone may have information they can share with me. 1. Deadline on stories and ordering books
    2. Nancy Bible
    3. Hi Sabra! I am working very hard on my stories and should have them posted tomorrow. I have a couple of questions for you. Since my Todds and Morris families lived in old Moscow, near Sulligent, they are listed in the Lamar, Fayette and Marion County censuses, ( due to the change of the county lines thur the years), I plan to send to Fayette Co. Heritage Book also. Do you know if Marion county would happen to be preparing a County History Book as well? Just wanted to cover all bases! Another thing I wanted to ask about was ordering the books. Is it okay to send in my check for the book along with the story or should I send it seperately, for the Lamar Book? Is there an address or deadline to order a book in Fayette county also? Marion too? Thanks for your help in advance. 1. Denton and related families
    2. Sue Cook
    3. Hi! I thought I would let y'all know that I have a lot of Alabama families represented in my database at my web site for the Denton and related families. There are over 15,000 people in the database, plus a lot of other information on the site. If any of you have Dentons in your lines, I would love to hear from you! There are also some down-loadable gedcom files for families other than Denton that I have in my at-home database, such as Hunt, Moore, Plumlee, Cooper, Chastain, O'Dell, French, Shipman, Baker and Huff. All of these families intersect in some way with the Dentons, but have a great deal more information in the individual gedcoms than is on the database at the site. There is a lot of other information on the site as well that you might find interesting, as well. The address is: http://www.acun.com/dentons I hope you find something of value! Blessings!
