    1. Wesley Chapel Cemetery
    2. I am in the process of combining two cemetery lists of the Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Fayette County. One list was made by Herbert & Jeanie Newell Aug 7-8, 1958. The other list is part of a book of the entire history of Wesley Chapel Cemetery that was compiled by Gladys Gilreath Brown in 1983-84. I would like to make this an ongoing project and provide updates periodically. Could someone out there provide me with the person or organization that would have all of the records of the Wesley Chapel Cemetery since the last of these lists was published? I thank you for your interest in this matter. Ted Edwards 2760 W. Retread Rd. Pahrump, NV 89048-4437 775 727-1996 tebear0001@aol.com

    2. Lygia Cutts
    3. Can anyone help? Please reply to Paul at paul.humphrey@mciworld.com Thanks! Lygia January 17, 2000 I am looking for information on Humphries family that moved to Lamar County from St Clair County AL. My grandfather was William A. Humphries. His younger brother was Edgar J. Humphries. I believe William A.'s mother (believed to be Amanda Hammonds) died about 1876, shortly after Edgar was born. Their father, Drury Humphries may have died in the early 1880's. Their brothers and sisters were, from oldest to youngest: Thomas M., Lydia M., Mary A. John, James, Isham, Lafayette, Elizabeth, George, Sarah A., Andrew, Baxter, and Ida. Edgar was the youngest. Isham and Lafayette moved to Lamar County. I believe William A. and Edgar may have moved there also. Lygia Dawkins Cutts Cuttstree@Net1inc.net 881 Weaver Road Brewton, AL 36426

    1. book status
    2. Sabra Newell Sudberry
    3. Dear Listmembers: The indexing for the heritage book for Lamar Co. was completed last week, and mailed on Monday to the publisher. The next step is that we receive the blueline copy, which is the final film before printing. We hope to receive this sometime in the next two weeks. We have been asked to turn that around in one day, which we will try to do. We were told that it takes three weeks after we return the bluelines to print. Anyone wanting further information may contact the consultant, David Bice, at heripubcon@aol.com Merry Christmas, Sabra

    1. Lamar County Heritage Book Status
    2. Sabra Newell Sudberry
    3. Dear Listowners: As a result of my asking for Rob Cantrell's address, I have been flooded with letters wanting to know what status the Lamar Co. Heritage book is in. As of yesterday, we were completely finished with it, including the indexing, except for Rob's story, which was typeset incorrectly to the point that we need his help in restoring it. As soon as I hear from him, I will mail the last of it in. At that point the entire manuscript goes to what is called bluelines. Bluelines are film copies of the book, that is the final copy of the book. That is sent to David Bice for his review, then the committee, and we are being asked to turn that around in one day (!!!!). This book is 675 pages plus the index (unknown how many pages that will be at this point-in the index), so that will be nothing short of a miracle, but we are going to try. As soon as the publisher receives this from us, the book will print. Everyone pray that all of us can hurriedly do our part to get this done!! Also, a reminder that everyone needs to get their book orders in before publication, and the price increase to $69. Current price is $64.40 postpaid. Send orders to: Heritage of Lamar Co., AL, P.O. Box 216, Kennedy, AL 35574. Merry Christmas All!! Sabra
