    3. Could someone please clarify where the Wesley Chapel Cemetery is, that the recent postings, about the cemetery book, have been talking about. The Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Lamar county is located southwest of Detroit on County Road 8. There is a Wesley Chapel Cemetery located in Fayette county near the Lamar county line, in the Belk community. I have seen postings before, concerning the cemetery in the Belk community, on the Lamar county list. I was just wondering if this cemetery is being confused with the one near Detroit. I am not aware of any such book concerning the Wesley Chapel cemetery neat Detroit, however I did index the cemetery myself several years ago. Thanks, Theresa Whitaker

    2. I have seen several recent posts making a reference to a Wesley Chapel Cemetery Book. Is this some new work that has just become available? One post from a Violet Sizemore indicated she wanted a copy. I am in contact with Violet about every month because she is a third cousin. In 1999 I made a trip to AL/MS and Violet and I did some research in Fayette Co. and Lamar Co..... The introduction shown below may explain the results of our trip. I know Violet does have copies of both the Wesley Chapel Cemetery works mentioned below. The introduction below is part of a work I have done since my 1999 trip. I have made some contact about this work but there have been no follow ups from the people In Alabama I have contacted. I have experience with a cemetery book where I live. I would like to continue this project and provide updates to the Wesley Chapel Cemetery to the most recent burials. I don't think the two earlier works, "Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery” copied by Herbert M. Newell & Jeanie P. Newell on August 7-8, 1958 and “Wesley Chapel Methodist Church” compiled by Gladys Gilreath Brown in 1984 and published by her in 1984, are registered copyright material. In my work I give both authors credit for their efforts. My work has been done in Microsoft Works version 4.5 and is available to any interested parties via email Theodore A. Edwards 2760 W Retread Rd. Pahrump, NV 89048-4437 775 727-1996 tebear0001@aol.com INTRODUCTION Wesley Chapel Methodist Church And Cemetery in Fayette County, Alabama The information contained here was compiled and combined from several sources. The “Wesley "Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery” copied by Herbert M. Newell & Jeanie P. Newell on August 7-8, 1958 and “Wesley Chapel Methodist Church” compiled by Gladys Gilreath Brown in 1984 and published by her in 1984 were the two most important. I used the works of Gladys Gilreath brown and added all of the name published in Herbert & Jeanie Newell’s work. The single thing that most motivated me to initiate this project was the text inside of the back cover to Gladys Gilreath Brown’s book. “The history of the past is a matter of too much importance to be thus neglected, and we shall regret someday that we have note made more effort to preserve it in some systematic form.” I met Herbert M. Newell and Gladys Gilreath Brown in May, 1999 when I took a genealogy research trip to Alabama and Mississippi. I am a Bobo descendant and know that Herbert and Gladys are also Bobo descendants. The original 40 acres for the site of the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church and Cemetery was provided by Edward & Sarah F. Bobo. I would like for all who see this effort to please contact me with any updates or corrections to the information herein contained.

    3. I have been having problems with the MrSid viewer also. When I would try to view the census records, it would tell me to download the plugin....which I already had. I called Ancestry.com tech help line. They asked which browser I used. When I replied Netscape, the man told me that Netscape wasn't compatible with MrSid....to use Internet Explorer. Since I have both browsers, I switched to Explorer and I had no problems with MrSid opening as it was supposed to.
