Hello, I am looking for information on parents and relatives of George Pierce and Charlotte McKinney that married in Jefferson Co.,AL on 8/4/1836. All of the other Pierce and McKinney marriages in the 1820's and 1830's are from 2 families. Descendants of George Pierce a son of Hugh Pierce were there and descendants of Moses McKinney from Warren Co.,GA. Researchers of both families have no clue who my Pierce and McKinney are. George Pierce was born 1817-1819 in AL decd. 1853 in Union Co.,TN and Charlotte (Lottie) McKinney was born abt 1819 in AL from their later census. Charlotte McKinney Pierce applied for a deceased son's pension in Union Co.,TN for his civil war service in the late 1870's. In it she does not name her mother but states her mother was married three times. He mother married a George Sharp as one of her husbands because George Pierce and Charlotte McKinney Pierce moved to TN with her step siblings the children of George Sharp. George Sharp was left land in Union Co.,TN from his father. If anyone has any information or leads I would greatly appreciate it. One possible family for my George Pierce is the household of Hannah Pierce on the 1830 census of Jefferson which looks like siblings of deceased parents or a very young widow. 1830 Census: HANNAH JEFFERSON 2102-01001 If anyone has access to the court marriage bonds or records could they please tell me who might have given permission, bond, or was the guardian/parents of George Pierce and Charlotte McKinney on their marriage record in 1836. Sincerely, Lyle LeMasters
