I am researching my husband's grandparents who were living in the Dekalb area of Bowie County, TX, when they died (we believe). Parker T. Burns born 1876 in Birmingham, Jefferson County, AL died between 1910-1920 His wife, Melinda J. Smith Burns born March 1875 in AR died between 1910-1920 When they died(?), sometime between 1910 and 1920, they left three daughters and two sons, all young. The three girls were placed in the Methodist orphanage in Waco. The youngest son, Arie Lee, was given to the William Wisdom family who appear in the 1920 census in Collingsworth County, TX. None of the children are now living. There was some reluctance on my father-in-law's (Arie's) part to discuss his parents so there may be some story other than his parents' death.
