I am still researching my family in Jefferson County and can't honestly say that I have learned much more than I have since I first started --- about 5 years ago. My Harris family lived in Pinson, AL., Section 5, Township 16, Range 1west. The Goodwin's also seem to have owned property in Range 16 and later in Township 14, Range 3 West. My gg grandfather (General Marion Harris) disappeared in the Civil War and I have been unable to learn what happened to him. His parents are officially unknown, although they were probably Joel Harris and Sally Swinney. General may have had brothers named William M., James M., and John P. Harris.
