    3. Cheryl, I know that it is sometimes hard to find what one needs on these sites that have so many links. At this page http://www.bham.lib.al.us/sou/correspondence.html on a link from their site, one can find information about ordering copies of obituaries. Here is a copy and paste of that section: <<<<<begin copy>>>>>>>>> Requests for newspaper articles and obituaries: Requests for copies of newspaper articles are handled by our Microforms Center. These requests must come with an exact citation. Copies from census records and military records are not done. The charge for microfilm copies is a flat rate of $3.00 for 1 -10 pages (each additional page is 30ยข). Pre-payment is required for microfilm copies. Requests for microfilm copies should be submitted to: Microforms Center Birmingham Public Library 2100 Park Place Birmingham, AL 35203-2794 For more information concerning microfilm requests please email gov@bham.lib.al.us. <<<<<<<<<<<end copy>>>>>>>>> Hope this helps, Melba -----Original Message----- From: Cheryl Hollingsworth <cheryliz@mailhost.directlink.net> To: ALJEFFER-L@rootsweb.com <ALJEFFER-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Friday, December 01, 2000 4:19 PM Subject: Re: [ALJEFFER] Look Up Request--Obituary for Nell Hollingsworth >I was asking anyone on this mailing list if they would look it up for me. They actually specifically state NOT to bombard them with requests, but to hire a professional researcher, which I cannot afford to do.
