The primary reason that I created this mailist was to give us an opportunity to share information about Jefferson Co., AL and to find out if anyone else is working on the same families, churches or geographic areas that we are. I know that we have all experienced how very hard and very frustrating it can be at times when we are looking for a specific piece of information and we can't find it. It is particlularly frustrating for us that very few, if ANY of us, live in Jefferson CO., AL. I know that we all try to appreciate the suggestions that others make on our behalf, even if their answers aren't always exactly what we're looking for. I always appreciate it when someone takes out time from their own research and their own problems to make a suggestion to me, at no gain to themselves. I know we all try to help each other when we can. I belong to many maillists and I am the listowner for almost a dozen and I can honestly say that this group has an unusually high number of some of the friendliest, hardest working and most caring genealogists that I've ever met.
