Jim, The library at Wallace College has a microfilm set of both the AL Death Index, 1908-1959 and microfilm of the actual death certificates for all of Alabama, begining with 1908. They have certificates for years past the index but I'm not sure how far they go. You can contact them at: Family & Regional History Program Wallace State College P.O. Box 2000, Hanceville, AL 35077-2000 (256) 352-8265. Hope this helps, Melba -----Original Message----- From: Jim & Donna Nix <nixes@mail.bhm.bellsouth.net> To: ALJEFFER-L@rootsweb.com <ALJEFFER-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Monday, February 05, 2001 8:39 PM Subject: [ALJEFFER] Jeffco Death Certificates >I was told that Wallace State Community College at Hanceville, AL, had a file of the Death Certificates for Jefferson County. > >Can anyone on the list verify that? If so, what other genealogically important files do they have? Do they have anyone who will do lookups?
