    3. Betty, I am sorry if I offended you with my attempt to help. All I had to start with was the information in your email to the list. I know that the censuses do not have Maiden names on them. All I stated was that you could get an approximate date of marriage (by computing from the number of years married, which is stated on the census) in order to look for a marriage record. Sorry that you misunderstood my try. Don't give up your search. I looked from 1988 to 1993 for the names of my father's grandparents in Jefferson Co. but finally managed to find them after following every lead I could find. Now I am looking for the gggg-grandparents in that line. Sincerely, Melba in AL -----Original Message----- From: Betty Haworth <woolspinner@coastalnet.com> To: ALJEFFER-L@rootsweb.com <ALJEFFER-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Sunday, February 11, 2001 3:11 PM Subject: Re: [ALJEFFER] William Oscar Grant b. abt. 1902 >For Melba Clark, Thank you for your reply but I made one mistake when I >posted,, I forgot to say that I am not a beginner..
