    3. Okiciya, But she was the ORIGINAL owner. She got it from the government on the Military Act of 1850 for her husband's service in the War of 1812. Only the original owners are on the Tract book that I was referring to. The list (from BLM) that I sent included ALL of the property in that section EXCEPT hers. I just found that to be strange. Other people tell me that they have found persons with land from Military acts on the BLM. What is the terraserver site? Is there a URL for it? Further transfers are not available through BLM. If an individual sold her the property after he/she purchased it from the government, it may not be listed. I have the same problem...a gg grandfather purchased land, then sold, and bought other property. Only the first transaction (government to individual) is on the BLM site. Sent to the National Archives for the forms for ordering the whole file but don't know if it will reveal anything further. There may be a way to locate further information at the BLM site, but I haven't been able to find it. Had a professor at college tell me about the terraserver site. You can locate the exact area the property is in and get an overview of the county, state, etc. Noticed that you have the tract book so may not need it but the site is interesting also. If you find out some way of getting further info on a piece of land, would love to see it posted. In the tract book for Jefferson Co AL, it is listed for Rebecca Self dated Nov. 20, 1852. The NE1/4 is marked 1850 Military Act. Can anyon tell me why it does not show on a search for Sec 26-15S-1W in the file of BLM? The result of the search is shown below.
