Their 1850 census looked like this: 1850 US Census, Jefferson Co., Alabama page 154 B -155A Mud Creek Beat, District No. 31, Nov 13, 1850 by L. G. McMillion 33-33 Odum CRANE, age 38 born SC - Farmer Mary J., age 25 born AL Mary Jane, age 7 born AL William J., age 4 born AL Nancy S., age 1 born AL As you can tell from the census record the oldest daughter listed was born in 1845 (actually 26 Jan 1845) which was 21 months before this couple was married. Thereforth the mother could have been married before this marriage. Their daughter Mary Jane Crane is my gggm... and I'm looking for someone that can help me solve this mystery. Mary Jane Crane married Leander Franklin Goodwin on 1 Aug 1865 in Jefferson Co. The Goodwins are also from the Mud Creek area. Leander is the son of Joshua Goodwin and Sarah Farrar.
