J. Verdo Norris, b. 16 Apr 1868 in Jeff. Co., AL., d. 16 Jun 1934 in Jeff. Co., AL, buried Concord Baptist Church, just outside of Hueytown, AL. married Mary Ann Vines (according to my mother in law) b. 26, Feb 1867, Jeff. Co., Al., d. 24 Mar, 1941 in Jeff. Co., AL, buried Concord Baptist. They had 10 children. there was a flu epidemic about 1918 and they lost 4 daughters that I know of (Cecil, Rosa, Tera and Bertha), and a son in law (H. M. Handley). May not have these in birth order, as I don't have dates for some of them. 1. Cecil Norris. female, no dates married to Isom McFerrin 2. Flossie Norris married Clarence Griffith, had one daughter Mary Elizabeth, Living, married first to Fred Brown, and sometime after his death, married Pat Willingham 3. Ruthie Norris, d. after 19 married Henry M. Handley, b. 11 Jan 1888, d. 2 Jan 1919, Jeff. Co., buried Concord Baptist Church Cemetery 4. William "Bill" Norris, know he was still living when we moved back to SC in 1983 married Alma Kendrick. 5. Rosa Norris, b. 23, Jan 1885 Jeff. Co., Al, d. 20 Oct 1920, Jeff Co., buried Concord married Sam F. Early, no dates 6. Laura Ann Norris, b. 14 Feb 1889 Jeff. Co., AL, d. 26 Dec, 1981, Jeff. Co. married William Marion Salter b. 22 May 1890 Jeff Co., d. 16 June, 1947 Jeff Co., both are buried in Concord Baptist Cemetery. According to my mother in law, William Marion Salter's parents were William Henry Salter and Frankie Vines. 7. Tera Norris, b. 1895 Jeff Co., d. 1918 Jeff Co., buried Concord, married ? Graydon. 8. Bertha Norris b. 1897 Jeff Co., d. 1918, Jeff Co., buried Concord, married J. W. (?) McDonald, (father possibly owned McDonald Furniture Co. in Bessemer). 9. Zebedee Norris, b. 26 June 1900, Jeff.
