Angela, By 1883-4 Elyton was probably part of the area covered by the main directory. The part that I copied was just the Gazetteer of Principal Points in Jefferson County. This section was lists from post offices outside of the Birmingham directory area. To find someone in the Elyton area, just look up their name in the directory. Some of the directories have a section covering street addresses with the occupants listed by house numbers. I don't know which ones have this. Birmingham Publice Library has quite a large set of Directories starting sometime in the 1870's. Hope this helps, Melba -----Original Message----- From: Angela Markwalter <cathexis@mindspring.com> To: Melba Clark <melba.clark@gte.net> Date: Saturday, October 14, 2000 12:29 PM Subject: Re: [ALJEFFER] B'ham City directory >Melba--- > >Is there a listing for the Elyton area? > >Angela >
