Susan, Where are your WOODSON connections? I have one way back up in VA. Elizabeth Woodson b abt 1699 in Henrico Co., VA. married first Thomas Morton abt 1720. Elizabeth was the daughter of Richard Woodson and Ann Smith Woodson. Richard was the son of Robert Woodson and Elizabeth Ferris Woodson. Robert was the son of Dr. John Woodson and Sarah Winston Woodson. John was born abt 1585 in Devonshire, England. He and Sarah, daughter of Issac Winston, married there before 1619. They migrated to Virginia. John was killed by Indians near his home. Sarah saved their sons by hiding them, one in the root cellar and the other one under a wash tub. She and a neighbor fought off the attack. The daughter of Thomas Morton and Elizabeth Woodson Morton, Judith married Edward Goode. Two of Edward and Judith's sons, Thomas and Robert Goode, were two of my gggg-grandfathers. They migrated with their families, via Christian Co., KY, to Jefferson Co., AL about 1818/19, . So I am a "double" cousin of varing degrees to any of the descendants of the immigrant, Dr. John Woodson and Sarah Winston Woodson. Do yours connect with any of these? If so, maybe we could exchange some information.
