    3. Hello All! I descend from William and Mary (maiden name unk) Burgess of Prince Georges Co., MD. Their son Elias (my gggg gf) married Sarah Burgess, dau of Edward and Margaret (maiden name unk) Burgess in Pittsylvania Co., VA 1785. She was also born in Prince Georges Co., MD. Elias and Sarah migrated to Franklin Co., GA, ca. 1790 and lived out their lives there. Their grandson, William, son of Benjamin and Elenor (Timms) Burgess, migrated to Clay Co., NC where he joined the Confederate Army in 1861, served in 39th NC Infantry Regt., was captured at Acworth, GA in Oct 1864, and released from Camp Chase, OH military prison in May 1865. Sometime after 1877 the family dispersed from Clay Co. and eventually most ended up in Alabama. William and wife Mary Ann (Sexton) Burgess settled in Adamsville, Jefferson Co., AL. She died there in 1898 and he in 1904 and they are buried there. I descend from their son, William Samuel, born 1859, South Carolina, d. 1903, Indian Territory, in a coal mine explosion. His son, William Turner Burgess, returned to Jefferson Co., AL in 1916 and was active in Coal Mine Safety throughout his life. He was my grandfather. Manley: I descended from Mary Frances Manley, wife of William Samuel Burgess, noted above. She was daughter of Julius Cicero Manley and Nancy Ann Chambers and was born in Cherokee Co., GA. Would like to hear from anyone connected to the above families. Bill William C. Burgess II 10605 Dreamy Lane Parker, AZ 85344-7523 Ph: (520) 667-3572
