    2. Does anyone have any information on this family? W.L.Furman was my grandmother's 2nd. husband. I do not know what the date was of his death, as the obit does not say. It was after 1946, as I have a photo of him dated then. Can anyone give me any information? If there are any family members who would like a copy of the picture, I will gladly share with you. Sincerely, Kay R. Music in FL. ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ Walter Lynch Furman, 58, widely known Birmingham pharmacist, died at his home here today after an illness of several months. A resident of 2734 Eighth Avenue, South, Mr. Furman had been owner and operator of the East End Drug Company on the Southside for 12 years. Born and reared in Birmingham, he attended public schools here and received his pharmacy degree from Howard College in 1910. He had been in the reatail drug business about 40 years and was a past president of the Birmingham Retail Druggist Association, A Mason, he was a member of Gadsden Lodge No. 236. Surviving him are the widow, Mrs. Willie Mae Gore Furman, two sons, Walter L. Furman Jr. and John W. Furman, Birmingham, three daughters, Mrs. James Nabors and Mrs. E. W. Hare, both of Birmingham, and Mrs. J. D. McClain, Omaha, Neb., his mother, Mrs. Theodore B. Furman, Birmingham, a sister, Mrs. R. S. Maxwell, of Punta Gorda, Fla., three brothers, Marvin E. and Robert W. Furman, Birmingham, and John R. Furman, of Kerrville, Tex. a step-daughter, Mrs. Billy Robinson, of Jacksonville, Fla., and several grandchildren. Luquire will announce funeral arrangements. ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ Walter L. Furman Funeral services were held at Johns Chapel this afternoon for Walter Lynch Furman, 58, widely known Birmingham druggist. Mr. Furman died yesterday at his home at 2734 Eighth Ave. South, after an illness of several months. The James Cantrell officiated at the funeral. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Paul Tarrant, Homer Hollifield, M. A. Boynton, V. L. Smith, V. C. Wood, and M. G. Mullendore. All are past presidents at the Birmingham Retail Druggist Association. Honorary pallbearers were C. B. Hudson, president and other members of the Birmingham Retail Druggist Association.
