Good Day to you all; I'm the new kid on the block and my family is from B'ham. I have some "family stories" that I would like clarification on. These stories come from my Father (who is now 90) and I'm sure you are all aware of the kind of minds that elderly people have. I never knew my Grand-daddy, but through my Father's stories, I've grown to "know" him. My Grandmother died when I was 3 in 1956 and I can just barely remember her. Anyway . . . here is my first story . . . let's see if there is anyone out there that can fill in the events: I am the "proud" owner of a 32 single-action double-shot (I think that is the way it is described) Pearl handled revolver. My Granddaddy won it in a 28 cent Raffle. The pistol was from a matched set that belonged to a Gambler during the 1920's ??? The Gambler was shot and killed during a Poker game in a bar downtown. Inside his coat under each arm were the Pearl handled revolvers. I don't know anything more, other than my Granddaddy having won it through a raffle. Who has the second revolver ??? Could it be in a Museum ??? Family story says that the Gambler was killed with his own gun . . . that the lights went out and when they came on, the Gambler was lying in a pool of blood. Who was the Gambler ??? Which one of his guns killed him ??? I thrive on my Father's stories, but he is aging and his memory, even "past" memories is beginning to wane. Thank you in advance for any help given. Lynn WORRELL Hudson
