Frieda When you get a chance could you check on the SEARCY surname and any descendants of Freeman JONES? Martha JONES married Aaron SEARCY and migrated prior to 1850 to Monroe County, MS, later split into Tishimingo and finally Alcorn I believe. Freeman is Martha's brother . . . he from what I can tell died prior to 1860, wife's name was "Ellen" - had several sons though. Martha and Freeman are siblings to one of my great grandmothers. There are Scarcys and Jones in the Tishomingo and Alcorn Books but not in as a family. They may be intermingled with other families There are Jones on the 1876 Personal Assessment Roll in Tishomingo and there is a Irwin Searcy in the same book. There are Jones also in the Alcorn book but no Freeman Jones. There are also Searcy' s in the Alcorn book 5 different pages. There are 2 Searcys on the 1900 Census and Many Jones.
