There is a website about a person who will copy and send uncertified death certificates for $3 at http://alabamadeath.tripod.com/index.htm I have not used their service but have heard from some who have been pleased with it. Another alternative is the LDS libraries. If I understand correctly, they have the microfilm of the AL death certificates. As with other of their microfilm, one can order the film for a small fee to be used at their library. Ancestry.com has the death certificate index in it's database.
