Do any of these sites have 1960s death certificates? Melba I've also heard good reports about the above. Suzette Cook is the person who gets the certs. The LDS Family History Center in B'ham, off I-459, has a complete and permanent set of the microfilmed death certs from 1908 to 1959. Their hours are somewhat flexible so call before going. The usual days they are open are Wed. and Thurs, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The phone number is 205-967-7279. Cost is minimal, perhaps 15 cents per copy. Some of the libraries have the 1960-1974 death certificates but they are NOT indexed and VERY difficult to use. I've found it easier to order them from Montgomery than to wade thru the rolls & rolls of microfilm. But then again, at $12.00 a pop, it makes you assess the need for that certificate really intensely.
