Alexander W. is my gg-grandfather son of William David Thompson b. 1797 Burkes Co.,NC d. 1849 Benton Co.,AL The last data I have found on Alexander W. Thompson is from 1860 Census Blackburn, Jefferson Co., AL where he is listed as a "Student of Medicine", wife's name is Isabel and he had 2 small sons, William Wayne (my great grandfather), the other son was named Franklin. Family history passed down said that he was a Doctor in Confederate army but I have not found information of this anywhere. We have no information on wife's maiden name or where and when they died. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank You, Elaine
Is this Isabel ?: AL Marriages: A. W. Thompson married to Laura J. McWhorter July 15, 1855 in Calhoun Co., AL [Benton County was renamed Calhoun, marriage from Ancestry.com AL marriages. This only works of course if the bride's name was misread and should be Laura I. Since Walker County borders Jefferson County and has many Thompson families, would you like to place this query in the Walker County newspaper "The Daily Mountain Eagle" in their "Family Tree" column each Friday on the Lifestyles page? Reply with your full name and mailing address. Some readers do not have benefit of e-mail service to contact you with any info they may want to share. My involvement was simply trying to help someone else. The Alexander W. Thompson b.ca 1827-1829 TN is not in my own family line. Carl Thomas Knoxville, TN
