I am new to this list. I was born in Birmingham in 1942 and was baptized a Catholic shortly after my birth. I am trying to locate a record of my baptism. My parents and grandparents are all deceased, so I don't know which church we belonged to or even where we lived when we lived in Birmingham. I'm trying to fill in some blanks on my personal genealogy, which is part of a 40-year genealogy quest to document my family. Now that I'm getting up in years, I'm trying to fill in my personal information. Does anyone know if there is a regional Catholic office that I could contact that could give me that record? I would appreciate any tips and hints you can give me. Linda (in Arizona)
There is a Catholic school - John Carroll on the west side of Birningham. Maybe they can direct you. Here is a link for Catholic research in Alabama and Mississippi that gives the address of the Birmingham diocese: http://home.att.net/~Local_Catholic/CatholicUS-MobileAL-Miss.htm ----- Original Message ----- From: "Linda Lambert" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, September 18, 2006 12:02 AM Subject: [ALJEFFER] Catholic Baptism >I am new to this list.
