    3. Thank, E D, but my ancestor was killed in a mining accident which occurred sometime after June 1910. He was listed on the 1910 Jeff Co. census, but died that same year. It's my understanding that most of my ancestors worked in mines at Bessie, Blossburg or Flat Top. I will keep your info, however.-- Dianne >>> E D Wilson <emrice@icct.net> 02/28/00 10:25AM >>> Diane, Could not find any listings in the "Jefferson County Cemeteries" book, Vol 1. But you masy be interested in knowing that the Banner Coal Mines is the one that had the explosion in which 130 people were killed. It happened 4/11/1911. There is a Banner Coal Mine cemetery in Jefferson County between Linn's Crossing and Littleton. The mines worked a large crew of convicts. If the families of the regular employees were not found they buried the deceased at this cemetery, close to the mine. My ggrandfather worked at the mines also, but survived the explosion. E.
