    3. Delilah, Don't know if you saw the movie "October Sky" or not, but a lot of it was related to working in a coal mine. In that movie, each miner had such a marker with "his" number on it. When the miner would go into the mine, he would hang his marker on a board such that, if there were an accident or cave-in, they would know who was in the mine. 3. No I didn't see that movie, you think it would be on DVD - also I think this is a medal for safety - I also have some round discs that they would put on a 'trip' and it had a number and that told the man at the top who to credit with the coal - my daddy also would tell us about nobody would share their water, they were so afraid they would run out or get caught, they would treasure their water (so sad) - I also got some pay tickets or scrip. if you would like to see them I can see what I can do about getting them copied - delilah ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Nix" <lowhandicap@gmail.com> To: <aljeffer@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, August 28, 2007 12:41 PM Subject: Re: [ALJEFF] medal | Delilah, | | Don't know if you saw the movie "October Sky" or not, but a lot of it was | related to working in a coal mine.
