Here is what my cousins and I have found on our ancestor Simeon Miles who was In Shelby Co., AL in 1840, then went to Miss. and we found the following information !!Janet Stacey, Peg Hocutt and Irma J. Roy all looked at the Old Tishimingo County, Mississippi records on line at their GENWEB project page. Janet found this first and alerted the rest of us. Here is what we found: In the 1841-1847 Civil Cases, Docket for Old Tishomingo County, Mississippi, 1844, page 323, Aaron Dun/Deen vs. Drury Jentry, Simeon Miles and Rebecca Jentry. In the Letter Book #2, Circuit Court 1842-1844 is listed: MILES, Leonard Juror Pg 5 MILLS, Samuel P. Plaintiff Pg 335 !!This found found by Janet Stacey either on Ancestry.com or Geneology.com: Listed in the Index to the 1845 Mississippi State Census is: MILES, SIMEON State: MS Year: 1845 County: Tishomingo County Record Type: Township: No Township Listed Page: 023 Database: MS 1845 State Census Index !! Janet Stacey also found this information: 1841 Mississippi State Census Index for Itawamba County has an S. MILES. 1853 Mississippi State Census Index for Itawamba County has an S. MILES. 1866 Mississippi State Census Index for Simpson County has an S. J. MILES. Is there anything in your books on Tishimingo County Miss that corresponds with these names?
