Only 75 records of any kind kick up for Paul Corpening, using birth dates of 1880-1900. Most are in North Carolina. Nothing in Alabama. I tried Bell Jones 1867-1880 -- nothing that even vaguely matches. I tried it as Bell Mayes trying to get a 1900 census that would include your 1896 ancestor. Nothing.
