Hello. I am new to this list and subscribed in hopes that someone on the list might be able to help me with locating my ancestor's brother and his family. My ancestor, GEORGE HENRY FAULL was born 29 Dec 1850 in the little hamlet of Downgate, Stoke Climsland Parish, Cornwall, England. His older brother, WILLIAM FAULL, was christened 15 Feb 1843 in Truro Methodist Church, Kea Parish, Cornwall. They were the sons of WILLIAM and MARY (TREZISE) FAULL of Chacewater, Kenwyn Parish, Cornwall. Both WILLIAM and GEORGE H. immigrated to the United States in 1868 and located first at the copper mining district at Ducktown, Polk County, Tennessee. From there they spent a few years in the coal mines at Coal Creek (now Lake City), Anderson County, Tennessee. By 1880, George H. Faull had taken his family and gone to the western Kentucky coal fields where he located at St. Charles, Hopkins County, Kentucky and worked as mine foreman for St. Bernard Coal Co. for over a quarter of a century. His brother, WILLIAM FAULL, removed to BIRMINGHAM, JEFFERSON CO, ALABAMA. He had married NANCY ROGERS, daughter of JOHN ROGERS (who owned a ferry near Ducktown, TN) across the state line from Ducktown in Fannin County, Georgia on 28 May 1868. He moved his family to Jefferson Co., Alabama and lived at or near PRATT CITY. I believe he was working at a mine there. He died on 1 April 1893 and is buried, according to his death certificate, in PRATT CITY CEMETERY. His widow, NANCY (ROGERS) FAULL is listed on the 1900 Jefferson Co., Alabama Census with 5 children. I also have several deeds in Tennessee that prove they moved to Jefferson County, Alabama. I would like to find descendents of WILLIAM and NANCY (ROGERS) FAULL. First, can anyone tell me where I might find abstracts of this PRATT CITY CEMETERY? Where is it located? Their children were listed as: 1. FAULL, MARY A. R. - born Aug 1873 Pennsylvania (indicates that they were in PA for a short time). 2. FAULL, MARTHA B. - Born June 1876 Ducktown, Polk Co., TN 3. FAULL, JAMES H. - Born July 1878 Ducktown or Coal Creek, TN 4. FAULL, ELIJAH L. - Born Dec 1881 Coal Creek, Anderson Co., TN 5. FAULL, WILLIAM F. (or E?) - Born May 1884 Jefferson Co, Alabama; May have married Essie ___ and lived in Tuscaloosa Co, Al in 1910. I have also recently heard from a very kind woman who states that her husband's ancestor, WILLIAM E. FAULL was born 3 Dec 1909 in Alabama died 23 April 1988 and is buried in Huffman Methodist Cemetery, Jefferson Co., Alabama. His parents were LEWLYNN (LEWELLYN?) ELIJAH FAULL and JEANETTE (ROEBUCK) FAULL. Lewlynn Elijah Faull's father was also named WILLIAM ELIJAH FAULL. I am wondering if Lewlynn Elijah Faull was the same man as the above "Elijah L. Faull" or possibly her WILLIAM ELIJAH FAULL was the same man as the above "William F(E?)Faull. Where is Huffman Methodist Cemetery? If anyone has access to any Jefferson County cemetery records, marriage records, etc. who might be able to give me some clues to this family, I would most certainly appreciate it. I would be happy to return the favor here in Barren County, Kentucky or any surrounding county.
