    3. Mr. J. L. PRINCE , the jeweler, spent several days this week in Chattanooga. Mr. Frank PHILLIPS received a telegram one day this week announcing the death at Tracy City, Tenn., of M. J. Scott BARNETT, formerly of this city. Mr. BARNETT will be remembered at the tally boss at No. 7 several years ago. Mr. Hugh LOCKE has been quite sick at the residence of Mr. W. B. HASSLER for several weeks. Miss Mamie BAILEY quietly married Mr. Goodrich CAMPBELL, of Ensley, on Tuesday afternoon. The FINDLAY boys and the BROWN boys spent last week fishing, hunting, etc., at Warrior. George TODD jumped off the work train at the Furnances on Wednesday, slipped and fell under the cars and had a leg cut off. On Wednesday afternoon about one o'clock, Mr. George KAY died at his home after a short illness. He was buried at the Pratt City cemetery by the Odd Fellows if which order he was a member. (Note: in the Jefferson County cemetery book the date of death was listed at July 12, 1895 or 1899. So this would help to clarify the correct date.) "PERSONAL" Prof. P. M. McNEIL, superintendent of the city schools, is enjoying a vacation away from the city, Mr. Charles DONALDSON, of Cordova, is in the city on a three weeks vacations. He is the guest of his parents at the family residence. Miss Bessie NAIL has gone to Morgan Springs, Tenn., where she will remain during ther heated term. Miss Fannie COPELAND, of Birmingham, visited her sister, Mrs. J. S. VEST, Thursday. Mrs. C. L. LeCREN, of Wylam, visited friends in this city Thursday. Miss Pearl PERKINS has returned from a protracted vacation. Lizzie WOODFORD, of Cardiff, is visiting friends here this week. Misses Llizzie and Annie DAVIDSON, of Wylam, were visiting friends here last week. Mr. J. V. DICKINSON and family, are visiting relatives in Virginia. Mr. and Mrs. W. W. BLACKWELL are visiting Mr. BLACKWELL's parents at Hartselle this week. Miss Helen AMESON of Chattanooga, is visiting Mrs. A. H. DANIEL. "GRAYSVILLE" Last Saturday, Mr. MORROW looking pleasing .....his home was blessed with a baby girl. The friends of Mr. WILSON will be glad to know that he is improving fast. Messrs. POWELL and JONES, spent a few days on Little Warrior river fishing last week. The friends of Mr. and Mrs. R. D. WEST of Pratt City, extend their sympathy to them on the loss of their little babe. Little Carrie TUCKER who has been in bad health for some time has about regained her health and is looking well. "WYLAM WHISPERS" Mr. T. M. ALLEN, the well known shoeman, who has for some time had a shop in Pratt City, has moved to Wylam and has established a shop. Mrs. E. BURNELL and family were visiting friends at Ensley and Pratt City this week. Mr. James EUBANK of East Lake was a guest of his uncle, J. F. EUBANK, on Wednesday night. Mr. W. C. STORY of Pratt and Miss Mollie ENLOE were married at M. E. church, South, on Sunday, by Rev. N. B. WILLIAMS. Mr. John POWELL and family of Pratt City were visiting relatives here on Sunday. Mr. John FINDLAY and family of Pratt City were visiting relatives here last week. The BROWN boys spent last week fishing at the Warrior. Mr. Foster FINKLE left on Wednesday to visit his home at Buna Vista and will be gone about three weeks. Mesdames BOWER of West Highland, Birmingham and Wm. JENKINS of Pratt City surprised Mrs. D. THOMAS on her 50th birthday last Wednesday.
