Do you remember the John Hand First National Bank on 1st Avenue and 20th Street North? Just south of that was Morris Avenue, which was the dividing line between the "north" and "south" streets of Birmingham. All the streets/avenues north of Morris Avenue were "north" and all the streets/avenues south of Morris, going toward Five Points South, were "south" avenues.
