>From the book, "Cemeteries of Jefferson Co., AL, pg 298, "EAST LAKE. Located in East Lake section of Birmingham on 78th Street between 1st Avenue North and 1st Ave. South. Formerly called Ruhama Baptist Church Cemetery. Was established by 1830." In 1835, William Turner deeded about five acres to Ruhauma Baptist Church. According to the deed, the church and cemetery were already located there. [William, my 5G-Great-grandfather, is buried in the cemetery there.] The Ruhuma Church is now disbanded. [in 2000, I think] Witnesses to the deed were: Edmund Wood and Burrel Bass.
