My GreatUncle ran the old Hillman when it was on its last leg, Middle 50's . If memory serves it was between 3rd and 4th avenue and about 23 and 24th st. north. I have been away a long time but I think thats right. The location the lady talked about may have been the old YWCA. jc harris ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carl & Martha Thomas" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, October 19, 2006 2:38 PM Subject: Re: [ALJEFFER] Birmingham circa 1945 looking for news reports > At 02:29 PM 10/19/2006, you wrote: >>My grandmother, Queenie Morris, died on September 12, 1945 after a >>fall from a window of a hotel located at 205 N. 24 Street in >>Birmingham.
