    1. Francis Collins, 1832
    2. Cornelia Warner
    3. hello, I am looking for any information on this family; Mr. Collins Mrs. Collins 1 Francis Lee "Frank" Collins b: November 24, 1832 in Alabama d: April 18, 1876 in Visalia, Tulare, California +Mary Jane Peyton b: September 18, 1834 in Cape Giradeau, Cape Giradeau, Missouri m: February 19, 1859 in Tule River, Tulare, California d: January 03, 1926 in Grass Valley, Nevada, California 1 Mr. Collins b. November 26, 1832? d. after 1924? Missouri? this is what I think I know about my Collins line. from my grandmother's notes, Francis Lee Collins was b. Nov 24 1832 near Birmingham, Alabama. To the best of my knowledge, Birmingham has always been in Jefferson Co. Francis' family (brother, father, uncle) was mostly in the medical field, and it is by this particular clue that I hope to finally make a breakthrough on this line. Francis had a twin? brother born two days after him. the brother was said to have been raised by an uncle who was in the medical field. from a biographical sketch of one of Francis' sons, this brother was an Osteopath, and was still alive in 1924, living in Kansas City, MO. attempts to figure out which Collins is the brother of Francis has been daunting, and I have yet to figure out who he may be. the biography also said that Francis' father was an Aliopath. nowhere in the notes and papers I've found so far are the brother and father's names mentioned. both of the parents are said to have died in the 1840's. can anyone help me trace this line? thank you Cornelia in California

    3. My g-grandfather George Hampton Cole (b. 1811 SC) married Caroline JOHNSON (b. 1827 AL) (d/o Matthew & Sarah Bentley Johnson) in Pinson, Jefferson Co., AL in 1847. They had 13 children. George was a farmer & Justice of the Peace there, his mother may have been named Jane. I have no other names for possible parents/siblings of George. Caroline's siblings married into the families of BUSH, SELF & KILOUGH. George & Caroline's children married CHAMBLEE, FRANKLIN, MOORE (MOOR), and HIGGENBOTHAM (of Village Springs, Blount Co., AL) I would be very interested in hearing from any one who may have a connection, or be working on any of these surnames in Blount or Jefferson counties. 1. [ALJEFFER-L] Update on LDS website and Family Search
    2. Nancy DeVore Williams
    3. I am forwarding this because I thought some of you might find this message from Deborah helpful. Nancy Listowner: Tarrant-L, Selby-L, ALJEFFER-L I am passing this on to the various lists I am on or manage. Hope this helps. From: Deborah Byrd This Should Answer Question About LDS SEARCH Hello Fellow Researchers, I have been bombarded with questions on the Family Search Website and would like to pass on to you the information I received when I spoke to an "Official" Church spokesperson at Family Search. He advised me of the following: The OFFICIAL LDS Church website is LDS.ORG. Go to media resources and find News update. The church is posting updates as they come in as to the state of the family search. Within 3 or 4 minutes of the NEWS UPDATE ANNOUNCING the FAMILY SEARCH is online. They will post it THERE! SO Keep checking. Should be a couple of days. It will be a MASSIVE SITE. They are prepared to test this site using anyone who wishes to go to it and use it. THERE WILL BE NO PASSWORD TO ACCESS IT. The rumor about the password was incorrect. When the site was put up it was restricted to a few....about 100 people who designed it and are putting the finishing touches on it, someone there LEAKED, YES LEAKED, (AN EMPLOYEE) and that is why some of you got in. When the masses bombarded the site it crashed cause it was not finished. They have now given each worker an INDIVIDUAL PASSWORD, SOOOOO IF it gets leaked again they will know who did it. It has been postponed being put online a few days because of the crash. There are now about 12 popular stories going around about Family Search. I ASSURE YOU MINE CAME FROM A CHURCH SPOKESMAN. IF you pass information about the site on to others please just send them this message I have sent you. The whole message. Now please remember this: 1. Go to LDS.org 2. Find Media Resources 3. Check News Updates That will inform you when it is going online. Please notify everyone you know who will be interested. I hope this helps you all. You have my permission to pass this note on to any Genealogy Lists you wish. Again, Please pass the whole note not just sections of it or we will have more rumors.
