I am looking for Thomas ALINDER on page 166 of the 1830 Jefferson Co., AL census. If anyone has access to this census, I would be grateful for the lookup. Many thanks, Carla
Do you have access to the 1901-1905 city directory for Birmingham, Alabama? Need look up for Joseph Hamilton... he was according to the 1898 or 1899 directory living in Smithfield [Birmingham], Alabama... I am trying to narrow the search for him and his family and when they left town... At some point they ended up in California by 1915... Also, search Joseph Hamilton, 1906 - 1915 city directory for Baltimore Maryland.... also, maybe... Clarence Hamilton 1913-1915... Please if you can run a check.... I do not know when or where Joseph Hamilton died... his wife and children were living in California by 1915 or 1916.... Mark
I am seeking data on a Robert WILLIAMS, son of Sydney Stanton & Mandy (ESSLINGER) WILLIAMS. Using the SSDI, I found (2) possible men who died in your county. I was wondering if someone would be willing to look up their obituaries for me? Both deaths happened in Birmingham. One in Nov 1977 the other in Oct 1982. I am the granddaughter of his brother, Willie Lee, who went to Texas in the 1920's. Thank you, Lisa Williams San Marcos, TX.
Hello List I am a new subscriber ... I am looking for any data regarding Alcie (WILLIAMS) MORGAN, daughter of Sydney Stanton & Mandy (ESSLINGER) WILLIAMS. On 9/24/1913 in Madison Co., AL. she married Charley MORGAN. Using the SSDI, I located an Alcie MORGAN who died in Feb 1986 in Birmingham, Jefferson Co., AL. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to do an obituary lookup for me? Or perhaps someone out there is related to her? I am the granddaughter of her brother, Willie Lee WILLIAMS, who went to Texas in the 1920's. Thank you Lisa Williams San Marcos, TX.
Thomas ALLENDER md Elizabeth PATTERSON on 13 Feb 1827 in Jefferson Co., AL. I would like to know their ages at the time of marriage. If anyone could help, I would certainly be grateful. Many thanks, Carla
Hi, Does anyone have access to the 1840 Jefferson Co., AL census? If so, would you mind checking for Richard ALLENDER on page 205, Nicholas ALLENDER on page 185, and Thomas ALLINDER on page 205? Many thanks for your time. Carla
The 1815 - 1899 Jefferson County Marriages available on the website are not complete. I have not found a single one of my 1890's marriages on the list, altho they are in the indexes at the courthouse and the licenses are there . Don't assume that your marriage is not in Jefferson County just because it doesn't appear on the online list! Martha mulkin@midwest.net
To all... I have a copy of the JEFFERSON COUNTY INDEX TO COLORED MARRIAGES for 1890. The surnames covered are from Gordon, Laura thru Hammonds, Fannie... So if the names you are searching for come somewhere in between those names then I might have it.,... I have it posted online somewhere.... forgive me I lost where... as my computer crashed a month ago or so... so I lost where I saved it.... but if you for me to check send me the names... BUT REMEMBER ONLY THE SURNAMES FALLING BETWEEN "GORDON - HAMMOND"..... If you send a name outside of that realm I will just ignore it... I suggest you put the names in the subject area. Mark
On the index for Jefferson Co AL marriages downloaded from ALGENWEB, April 06, 1998, there is no William Scott. The Scott grooms are Claiborn G, 1833; David, 1847; James O, 1855; and Samuel S, 1858. There are 6 Scott brides, between 1818 and 1855. --- MGolden603@aol.com wrote: > I would like to find another individual who may know > something about my > GGGrandad William A. Looking for information on Bishop George Foster Pierce and his son Lovick Pierce. Bishop Pierce was involved in the split in the Methodist Church in Philadelphia in 1846 and moved to Alabama. Wanda
I would like to find another individual who may know something about my GGGrandad William A. Scott b 1800 TN and mar Flora Ann Scott about 1829 in AL (probably in Jefferson or Talladega Counties). Flora was b 1809 in GA and was the daughter of William and Annis Cameron of Talladega, AL. William A. Scott was the sheriff of Jefferson County Alabama from 1829 to 1834. He signed several documents in county records. He bought some land and also had a cotton business at Elyton on main street I believe for a period of time. In 1834 he was elected as State Representative for the Jefferson County area. I would like to know more about him. I have no other information of where he went to represent the people back then. In 1859 he was at the estate sale of William Cameron and purchased several items. He had an address of Mobile, AL in 1859 before he moved to Rusk County, Texas by 1860 and was on the census there with his wife Flora and 4 children (James M. Scott; Thomas W. Scott, Mary J. Scott and Robert A. Scott) another daughter Ann Eliza J. Scott mar Hugo A. Shillytoe and stayed in Mobile when the rest moved west. I would really like to know where and when William A. Scott and Flora A. Cameron were married as all their children were born at Elyton. I also would like to know where Willliam A. Scott came from. He showed up as a deputy sheriff about 1827 or 28 at Elyton. He was also the 1830 census emumerator for Jefferson County. So he was playing a large role in the settlement of Jefferson County for several years, but I still feel there is more about this man that I know very little about, does anyone have any research on him or his life as a representative? Any help would be appreciated. Mike Golden Temple, Texas MGolden603@aol.com

I need help in locating the the marriage record of John E. Russell of Blount Co. to Delia Jane Campbell of Jefferson Co. in late 1914 or 1915. John was 19 years old and Delia would have been 26. John would have been underage and would have needed his parents signature.(?) Is there somewhere in or around Alabama where he would not have needed a signature? I've checked the Blount and Jefferson Co. marriage records but have been unable to locate the marriage record. In birth records of Blount Co. the first child (John Carlos) was born in October and the recorder indicated (legitimate). I would assume the were married before Oct. of 1915. Any help would be appreciated. Regards, Deon Idaho
