Below are two transcriptions for the Elyton Cemetery found at the following site: (http://members.aol.com/genweblisa/jeffersoncems.htm). 1. ADKINS, Mary N. 1 Dec 1801-20 May 1856, Wife of Thomas M., Dau of Reuben and Lucy Marin Wade 2. WILKINS, Mary M. 1 Dec 1801-10 Jul 1856, Wife of Thomas M., and Dau of R. and L. Wade I believe one of these ladies was Mary Margaret WADE who was the d. of Reuben WADE and Lucy MARTIN. The real Mary Margaret WADE married Thomas M. ADKINS. Since both of the ladies above were b. on the same date and d. on different dates twins? Why does the Mary above that was the wife of ADKINS have a middle initial of N? Could all this inconsistency be caused by errors on the part of the transcriber of the cemetery info? Is there another site where I can verify the information? Any help appreciated. Eldon
I'm looking to connect with anyone who has MORROW relatives from, or living in, Graysville, Alabama. -- Dianne
In the fall of 1817 several families left Pendleton District, SC headed for the Black Warrior County and upon arriving at what is now Birmingham in the early spring of 1818, found land in the vicinity of Brown's Spring and Nabors' Spring (present day Ave E and 22nd Street, Birmingham.) In this group were some four or five families including John "Red" Brown, William Brooks, William Pullen and his sons-in-law, Joseph and Jesse Hickman. (Duffee, Sketches of Alabama, p. 25) Brown was active in politics in Jefferson and Tuscaloosa Counties in Alabama before moving on to Texas. John Brown may have been born in Pendleton District, according the the 1850 Census of Van Zandt County, TX. The Texas State Archives give his birthplace as York District in a notation of his service in the House of Representatives of the Republic of Texas and the State of Texas. John "Red" Brown and William Brooks are my ancestors. Does anyone know anything of them? Thanks, Bob Pfennig in New Braunfels, TX

Hello List My most wanted ancestors are the parents of Henry W. McBride b July 15 1801 PA d May 3 1870 AL. He is buried in the Colee Cemetery in Autauga Co.,AL. Marriage records of Dallas Co.,AL, February 03,1842 lists Henry McBride b PA married Rachael F. Tommer or (Tommee ) born in GA. Henry is found on the 1850 census of Dallas Co.,AL 1860 Census of Bibb Co., AL and then I find him on the 1870 Mortality Schedule for Baker Co.,AL There is no Baker Co.now but was made into Chilton Co. which is next door to Autauga Co. where he is buried at Colee Cemetery Henry McBride 70 W M b PA. d May, was a farmer died of Pneumonia. It has just struck me that I dont have them on any 1870 Census, guess I will have to search Baker and Autauga for Rachel McBride and boys. 1880 Census of Autauga Co., Rachel the widow of Henry W. McBride is living with her son Hiram Weaver McBride and wife Sarah. Henry W. McBride was 41 years old when he married Rachel and she was 21 years old. You would think by the age of 41 he would have been married before and had other children!? What brought him from PA to AL ? Was he living in Baker Co.,Al at his death or was he visiting Family there? Some believe he is the son of Archibald Mc Bride b Penn. or of Ulster, Ireland and Agnes Or Nancy Elliot b Penn. or of Ulster, Ireland. These McBride or of Allegheny County, PA. If Henry W. McBride is the son of Archibald McBride then Henry would have had 1st wife Lylie, 2nd wife Jane Elliot This could answer my question of his being so much older than Rachel when they married. Our Henry W.McBride had 3 sons names Charles Henry, A. James ,and Hiram Weaver ,which is our line who came to Texas. Some of the children of Hiram and Sarah McBride were born in Birmingham,Jefferson,Alabama. Thank You Much Jo McBride djm@etex.net
Could someone do a lookup on the 1830 Jefferson Co census for me? I'm looking for John P WADE. Thanks in advance. Eldon

Help Listers: Are there any school records as early as 1840's, particularly in Louisville? I have tried to research church records -- without any results. Keep thinking there has to be some document, somewhere, that would designate my grandfather's parents. Dorcas S.
