I too have ordered quite a few of the $3.00 uncertified death certificates. The service was fast, and they were clear photocopies of the actual death certificates. Can't beat that. Here is a post I have not posted in a long time. Absalom Caldwell arrived in Jefferson County in 1830 with his wife Hannah Hinds. Does anyone know where he actually died or is buried?
When you apply for a copy of a "Marriage License" Do you get the "Marriage Application" also, or do you have to ask for that different? I am asking in the year of 1944 in Jefferson Co., Alabama. If any one could do a Look Up for a Marriage Application please let me know. Thanks. PeggySue "O'Shields" Gaddis
Is this him in the 1910 Census? 1910 Robbins, Jefferson County, AL p. 12A, ED 38 Wilson, John S. 60 widowed born AL, parents born GA [Indexed John L. Wilson] Bebe E. son 25 single born AL, parents born AL Lizzie sister 55, single born AL, parents born AL I don't find him in the 1920 census. There are several John Wilsons shown in the AL death Index who die in Jefferson Co. between 1910 and 1920: dates of death for John Wilson in Jefferson Co., AL: 9 Jan. 1912; 5 Feb. 1912; 28 Jan. 1916;16 May 1920 ----- Original Message ----- From: "E. Some of the marriage licenses have parental consent if either the bride or groom were underage. [18 for ladies, 21 for men, back then]. Then one I found had "parental consent attached" but the note was missing. Another one I found had the signed note attached to the page. Most which I have seen have two persons signing bond, usual the groom is one of those signing. I just wanted to take a minute to ask everyone to please be careful to stay on topic when posting and to post privately if the conversation enters a realm not of interest to the entire list. This is a wonderful list made up of some of the most generous genealogists that I have ever met anywhere and it has always been my intention not to squelch anyone. However, we all also want to keep as many people subsribed as possible so that we have a better chance of making a connection, and we have the best chance to accomplish this if posts stay on topic. Thanks guys. I really sincerely do think you are all great and doing good work here and I am proud for the chance to be a part of it. SO, back to geneaology. Somebody have a query they haven't posted in a while? Nancy

Hey Carl, I can get into Huntsville library databases - maybe I can see if they have anything - got to run to walmart, then be right back - got to check with my sister, she was supposed to go today about scheduling her mastectomy, say a prayer for us - her and her husband got total custody of their grandboys, the children of her daughter Teri, who died in 2002 with ovarian cancer - and last night I was down there at her house and one of the boys, I looked at him and one of his pupils was way larger than the other - thats a sign of a head injury - which he may of got from his daddy when he had them, nearly scared me to death, I mean it was way bigger than the other and was the first thing I saw when I looked at him, he was the baby of the two boys and has not done good since his mother died, his daddy took them the very day Teri died and has never treated like children since 2002, so now my sister has them for good, I sure hope (D.J.) the boy don't have anything wrong in his brain, I don't think we should have to go thru anything else - delilah ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carl & Martha Thomas" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]>; <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, September 25, 2006 1:43 PM Subject: [ALJEFFER] Manila Hale 1820-1870 | Seeking information about Manila Hale, her parents, siblings, and any | other family tree information that may be available.....
