For those who are interested, I created as search tool for the BGS website and have placed it on the BGS blog site: http://birminghamgenealogy.wordpress.com Look on the right under "Jefferson County", then click on "Birmingham Genealogical Society website google search engine" Using the search tool you can surnames anywhere in the index - father's surname, mother's maiden name. You can also search for a certain cemetery or burial place. Hi Delilah-Sharon from Connecticut here. Not going to ask How are you doing. I can see/read you are busy, in the thick of everything and thanking that guy upstairs that we got up this morning, inorder to type on this website. (smile) I'm still chasing loose ends info connected with grandmother ALABAMA MOORER-HUGHES-PEAKE 1852-1923. Specific chase now, is for a son Robert E.L. Hughes 1876-d:jan 12,1926 in B'ham. He owned a home @ 123 Ave E. South and left a daughter MAMIE who was b: about 1914(b:I think,in Lowndes Cnty) Bimingham Question: #1. Where is MASON CITY CEMETERY? Know anything about their records, if any? #2. ECHOLS-STRONG was the name of a funeral director BACK IN 1923 and was still in business in 1926...got anything on them? #3. How hard is it to get a copy of a will or disposition of assets from the places there? This site had a big writeup on school records possible I can trace something on Mamie there... till we type/talk Sharon --- Delilah <diamond6468@mindspring.com> wrote: > yes go thru the Birmingham Gen Soc or thru the BPL, > when you see 'research > records' click that and it will take you to the > Awquin site - you have to > know how to manuever around it - there are more > cemeteries there also. > delilah > ----- Original Message ----- > From: <lhigg@mindspring.com> > To: <ALJEFFER@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Saturday, July 21, 2007 8:09 AM > Subject: [ALJEFF] Anguin Funeral Home > > > | Does anyone have the Anguin Funeral Home records > link? > | Darryl > | > | ------------------------------- > | To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email > to > ALJEFFER-request@rootsweb.com with the word > 'unsubscribe' without the quotes > in the subject and the body of the message > | > > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email > to ALJEFFER-request@rootsweb.com with the word > 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and > the body of the message >
I am searching for some Goins that came from Tennessee or Kentucky. A daughter, Parthena Goins, married William Andrew Alexander before 1876. Their children were born in Denmark, White County, Arkansas. Parthena parents were Thomas Goins and wife Mary E. (Last name unknown). Her siblings were Hugh, James, John, Tennessee, and Sarah. That's most of all I have. >From: "Delilah" <diamond6468@mindspring.com> >Reply-To: aljeffer@rootsweb.com >To: <aljeffer@rootsweb.com> >Subject: [ALJEFF] GOINS >Date: Fri, 20 Jul 2007 14:45:51 -0400 > >Who is researching GOINS? >Forward if needed > >delilah > > >------------------------------- >To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to >ALJEFFER-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the >quotes in the subject and the body of the message _________________________________________________________________ http://im.live.com/messenger/im/home/?source=hmtextlinkjuly07

Would anyone on this list be researching this surname: spelled Purser or Perser or Percer I've found an Alfred Percer---maybe spelled Pricer or Perot-in the 1910 and 1920 census records. Anyone have this name in their records? Judy Sanders
I have found in the 1920 Jefferson Co., Alabama Census a listing for an Alfred Pricer born 1893 with wife Lenar born 1891 I got this on the Ancestry Census index. However this is all the information I can view, since I am not subscribed to Ancestry. I wonder if anyone with access to this census could check for me and tell me about this household. I would like to know what other people are living in the household and their names and ages and where born-also the ages and place of birth for Alfred and Lenar. Also would there be a Walsh or Wales household near them? I would appreciate this so much. Judy Sanders
Who is researching GOINS? Forward if needed delilah
Irma I have never seen a site with Bham News obit back to 1980. Newslibrary (a subscription service) has the Bham News from about 1993 to present for searching. The Birmingham Public Library has a subscription to Newslibrary for the Bham News only - if you have a Bham Public Library care/Jefferson County card you should be able to access. http://www.bplonline.org/virtual/onlinedatabases/db_list.aspx?id=26 Melissa ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Tue, 17 Jul 2007 11:17:14 -0500 From: Irma Roy <iroy@bham.rr.com> Subject: [ALJEFF] Obits from Birmingham News Hi, Can anyone tell me if the obituaries from the Birmingham News are on line? I just went to the web site that used to carry them and they are no longer on that site. Is there any site on line that posts the obits from a Jefferson County paper? Ima, I either called the Birmingham News or wrote them and they looked one up for me in the 1950's, I htink there was a small charge, but she even called to make sure that she had the right name that I was looking for. I would call or write them.
