John GROSS [b. abt. 1770 d. 1821 Jackson Co., AL], s/o Jacob Sr. & Sabina GROSS, married abt. 1795 Claiborne Co., TN to Eva Marie LITTLE. John & Eva had the following children (all born in TN and all lived in Jackson/Marshall County, AL unless otherwise stated): 1. Catherine GROSS [b. June 6, 1797] m. Thomas J. EVANS. Thomas & Catherine had 8 or 9 children: William?, John P.?, George W., Jonathan, Ellen Eva, Eliza Jane, 1 Unknown Male, and 1 or 2 Unknown Females. 2. Jacob GROSS [b. February 6, 1799] m. Jane (Jincy) PENDERGRASS, d/o James & Nancy. Jacob & Jincy had 6 known children: Elizabeth Ann, Catherine, John Vernon, William B., Mary Ellen, and Nancy Jane GROSS. 3. George GROSS [b. 1801] m. Lucinda ANDERSON. George & Lucinda had 11 known children: John, Elizabeth, Andrew, Sarah, Jonathan, Isaac, Eva, George W., Jacob, William B., and David Oliver GROSS. 4. Mary Ann GROSS [b. December 12, 1803] m. Adam SHELL, s/o John Sr. & Elizabeth (*moved to AR*). Adam & Mary Ann had 5 known children: John, Elizabeth, Louisa, Abraham, and Elihu SHELL. 5. Jonathan GROSS [b. abt. 1805-10] m. Nancy Jane CARTER (*moved to MO*). Jonathan & Nancy Jane had 10 known children: Martha, John/Jonathan W., Catherine, James M., Christopher Columbus, George Washington, Amy Eve, Sarah Elizabeth, Nancy Selina, and Jacob L. GROSS. 6. David GROSS Sr. [b. 1809] m. Malinda BUSBY. David & Malinda had 8 known children: Alabama, John David Sr., Cyrus, Jacob, Martha L., David F., Zachariah Kennamer, and Malinda Elizabeth GROSS. 7. Elizabeth Jane GROSS [b. October 25, 1810] m. Richard Lawrence (Sauta Dick) KIRBY, s/o John KIRBY & Jane ADDAIR. Richard & Elizabeth had 9 known children: Eva Jane, Mary Emeline, John Miller, Virginia Ann, Sarah Elizabeth, James Porter Sr., Richard Lawrence Jr., Grizelda Orlena, and Thomas Sheppard KIRBY. 8.
