    1. [ALJACKSO] Jones
    2. I'm searching for the parents of my ggrandmother. She was told their names were Jim or James and Martha Jones. Her mother was an indian and her dad was probably white. My ggrandmother, whose name she remembered as being Redy or Rudy and later changed to Rhoda, was born around 1897, not sure exactly of the date. Supposedly her dad killed her mother when Rhoda was very small. She remembers she was left in a mining camp and was supposed to stay at a particular house and whoever lived in that house took care of her. John and Pearl Smith moved into the house and took care of her. When they left for some reason they took her with them. And we think the law was after John for doing that. The law was apparently after him quite a bit anyway. He was known as Fiddlin John most of his life. Pearl was a holyroller and preached to the people in the camps I think. Does this story sound familiar at all to anybody? I think if I could find out where exactly they were when they got my ggrandmother, I might be able to find out more information. We know they were in Jackson co but they moved around so much and we don't know the exact year that they took Rhoda. Any information at all would be helpful. Thanks, Debra Westervelt
