My grandfather was born in Jackson Co., Ala. His first wife was Eliza Ray. William Ray was listed on the 1850 census living very near my greatgrandfather Joel Childress. My grandfather Thomas Jefferson Childress probably married Eliza about 1848. I wonder if the Sarah you listed could have been his wife, the age is about right. After Eliza died, and Thomas was living in Franklin Co., Ark., A William Ray was living near. Am told that he was related to Thomas's children. Would love to have any information that comes forth.
