Hi, I am looking for information on a James JONES. Supposedly he was married to an indian woman named Martha. They had a daughter around 1898 and her name was Redy Shephard JONES. What we were told is that when Redy was very small, maybe 2 or 3 yrs old, her dad caught her mom with another man and killed her. This could just be hearsay though. We don't know for sure. Redy was left in a home for children and later taken in by a family, John and Pearl SMITH. John was a coal miner. I know John and Pearl lived in BRIDGEPORT for awhile. Does this sound familiar to anyone or is anyone know of a James JONES that married an indian woman around 1897 or so? Any information at all would really be appreciated. Redy is my great grandmother and she never even knew her birthday. Thanks, Deb
