Does anyone on the list know where I would begin to look for the estate (probate) of John MORRIS, Sr., died July 16, 1844, in Jackson County, Alabama? His son, John Morris, Jr. was administrator of his estate. According to the state archives (ADAH), they only have probate minutes from 1856-1927 and will records from 1855-1929 for Jackson County. Were the records from 1844 also lost during the Civil War?
