Hello, I am searching for the parents of Sanford Joel Burks born about 1827 in Illinois or Alabama. Married Mary Eliza Williams on 10 Sep 1846 in Hot Spring County Arkansas. I think his parents were in Kentucky then Alabama then Illinois then Tennessee then Arkansas. He had 2 sisters that I know of Nancy A. and Lucinda Burks and 3 brothers William R. and M.M. Burks and James Washington Burks. I have tried everything to connect Sanford up to one of the many Burks in Alabama and Illinois but I can't find where Sanford Joel was born anywhere. In the 1850 census of Hot Spring County it says Illinois. In the 1860 census of Hot Spring County it says Alabama and in the 1870 census for Franklin county it says Illinois. If anyone can help me connect Sanford up to his parents I would appreciate it. Any clue would help I have just about run out of ideas. I belie! ve Sanford's parents came from Logan county Kentucky to Alabama sometime before 1827 and were probably married in Alabama and Sanford and Nancy were born there then they moved to probably Fulton county Illinois where the other brothers and sister was born. Maybe someone in Jackson county has come across these names in their search. Thanks again Randy
