Benjamin Cloud was Justice of the Peace of Jackson County in 1823. George and Nancy Cloud settled in Jackson County in the 1840s. Descendants of these Clouds and members of all other Cloud families who live in the Tessessee Valley have a rare opportunity this July 14-16 to attend the annual meeting of the Cloud Family Association without making a long trip. It's in Huntsville this year, the first of its 23 annual meeting to be held in Alabama. Raymond Shirley, a descendant of Jackson County's George Cloud, will be a speaker at this annual meeting of the nationwide Cloud Family Association this year.
