Several members of my Mullins clan were in Jackson Co. Some of these include Jesse Frank Mullins, George W. Mullins, and plain old George Mullins. Legend has it that plain old George Mullins changed his surname to Wright after a scrape with the law. He supposedly died in 1939. George (Wright) Mullins' mother, Catherine, may have married a Mr. Wright some time after 1870. I also believe that my GG grandparents, John D. Mullins and Sarah Virginia Turner, where married there in 1874. I also appears that Sarah Virginia's mother(Lindsey Buffaloe Turner) and stepfather(Delany Hardin) where divorced there between 1885 and 1900. These families lived in the Trenton area. I wonder if the court house in Scottsboro has such records?
