I have a James Moore that married a Lucy Cunningham, probably in Jackson County. They had a child, John Washington Moore in 1852 {?}. Probably too much of a coincidence to not be a match somewhere. ...life is not a rehearsal. It is a big event. Life's in session, and it slips away quickly, so pay attention. They had three children: Mary L., Frances, and Elizabeth CUNNINGHAM who were born in Jackson Co. between 1862 and 1865. William CUNNINGHAM was lost during the final days of the Civil War and his widow was found on the 1870 Jackson Co. census living with her parents, Richard P. and Chrischarma HUGHES. She remarried in 1872 to Robert GILLILAND in Jackson Co. Nancy CUNNINGHAM/GILLILAND was identified as living in Jackson County in 1906 per the Cherokee County, AL estate record of her first father-in-law: John D. CUNNINGHAM. She was also identified as living in Jackson Co. per the 1900 census. Nothing is known of the three listed children, Mary L., Frances, and Elizabeth CUNNINGHAM, beyond their identification on the 1870 Jackson Co. census. Any information would be greatly appreciated. William CUNNINGHAM was a son of John D. CUNNINGHAM who purchased the land on Sand Mountain and opened the Cunningham Mines in 1853. ============================== The RootsWeb WorldConnect Project: 12.8 million individuals and counting. http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/
