Hello, Never thought I would be looking for my roots in Ala, but here I am.Need information on a fourth great grandmother or grandfather. She was Nancy Mulkey Smith, wife of John or Jake Smith of Jackson Co. Their children may have been born in Knox Co., Ky. She was supposedly Cherokee and was removed from Jackson Co...Ala. on the Trail of Tears, but dropped off in Ark. and ended up inCrawford Co., Ark. Their daughterMary Smith married James Bradford Wright whose daughter Malinda married James C. Barclay of Paint Rock who in turn had Penelopy Barclay Deal, my great grandmother. I would like to hear from others whose families were removed, and would like to know more about the Smiths. I am also looking for a Morris family that would have had a daughter named Virginia or Jennie and who would have been born about 1845 and who was in Parker Co., Texas in 1863 and married to a Daniel Price Green. Thanks for this opportunity. Gay Green Fuller

John, I don't have information on the Carlton/Carleton family line. I was hoping Imogene would have something on the Allison line that might connect to my Allison. Unfortunately I don't have John H and his wife Malinda in my information. I do have information about the Allisons of Dade Co GA but I didn't see in your message that it was Allison that you were interested.
