Dr. J. H. Sentell practiced medicine in Paint Rock, Jackson Co., Alabama. After his death, a lady was hired to clean out his house. She saved from the trash and gave to another Dr. Sentell's Records of Death for the years 1925 -1932 and Records of Birth for the years 1925 -1928. These are the doctor's records from which certificates were filed. I have been given permission by the present owner to make these records available. Many of these documents have been wet and are difficult to read where ink has bled from one page to the next. Trying to locate information on a Benjamin Sharp that lived in Jackson County sometimes around the 1830-1840.' He was the son of John and Martha Sharp of Madison County, New Market, Alabama. He was living in Madison County on the 1850 Census of Madison County, Alabama with two sons George and Bowman. Benjamin must have died between the 1850 and 1860 census in Madison County. Charlotte I have a copy of the 'History of Jackson Co., AL. by Kennamer: pg 191-192 Revolutionary Soldiers Who Lived In Jackson County #6. Lewis CLARKE - aged 71 and a resident of Jackson County; private, Virginia militia, enrolled on November 4, 1833 pg 165 Scottsboro Mrs. Fannie V. King, writing in the Scottsboro Citizen in 1895, says: "Joseph Snodgrass, David Long, Joseph CLARK and John Eads, all kin by blood and marriage, were the first proprietors of Scott's Mill, long years before Scottsboro was known." pg 168 Hollywood Hollywood is located on the Southern Railroad , a little over five miles northeast of Scottsboro. The most important industry Hollywood ever had was the Alabama Brick and Tile Company, which was established in 1898, by Northern men. E.J. Neher, J.F. There are names that are common to Halifax Co. VA, Cocke Co. TN and Jackson Co. AL. Has anyone traced ancestors through these three places? I have a LEWIS family that moved from Halifax Co. VA to Cocke Co. TN abt 1810. Then, some of them moved to Jackson Co. AL in mid-1800's. Also, have HICKS and CHILDRESS that may have followed the same pattern. Patti Kruger

My grandfather was born in Jackson Co., Ala. His first wife was Eliza Ray. William Ray was listed on the 1850 census living very near my greatgrandfather Joel Childress. My grandfather Thomas Jefferson Childress probably married Eliza about 1848. I wonder if the Sarah you listed could have been his wife, the age is about right. After Eliza died, and Thomas was living in Franklin Co., Ark., A William Ray was living near. Am told that he was related to Thomas's children. Would love to have any information that comes forth. Nancy Mulhkey Smith removed from Al. on Trail of Tears. Dropped off in Crawford Co. Ark.. Believe her father to be Joe Mulhkey who died in Crawford Co, in 1843.
