Would like to know what happened to the three daughters of William and Nancy (HUGHES) CUNNINGHAM. The names of the daughters were Mary L., Frances, and Elizabeth CUNNINGHAM. William CUNNINGHAM and Nancy HUGHES were married in Jackson Co., AL on January 27, 1861. One daughter was born prior to his entering the service of the Confederacy during the summer of 1862 when he joined the 3rd Regiment Confederate Cavalry. The remaining two daughters were born in Jackson Co. during the War. William CUNNINGHAM was killed prior to the end of the War. The widow and her three children then lived in Jackson Co. with her parents, Richard P. and Chrischarma HUGHES, until she remarried. Nancy (HUGHES) CUNNINGHAM married Robert GILLILAND in Jackson Co., AL on July 30, 1871. Nancy GILLILAND found to be living in Jackson Co. as of the 1900 census with only her daughter, Susan GILLILAND, who was born July 1873. It is assumed that Robert GILLILAND had died by the 1900 census. Nancy apparently died ca. 1905 as she was not found on the 1910 Alabama census. Would greatly appreciate having any information as to what happende to Mary L., Frances, and Elizabeth CUNNINGHAM. Herb Cunningham HerbCunnin@aol.com

Nancy was Ab's second wife. Nancy was third child born to John Bullard and his second wife Sarah (Goss?) and the first born in AL according to the 1860 Jackson Co AL census. John was born 1806 in SC to Robert S Bullard and first wife Sethany/Cynthia Allen who died in Walton Co GA. John married first Matilda Reynolds and had children Nancy (Who died the day she was born/ or born dead); Louiza who married Alexander Brown; John Blanton Bullard wife Margaret Carr; Mahala; Robert and Lucy Jane. With Sarah he had Evan Allen; Benjamin Franklin wife Sarah; my Nancy Ann who married Ab Keith; Sara Ellis who married Robert Allen; James Lafyaette; Thomas William; Mary Elizabeth who married a Cordell; Hugh Pearson who married Cora Alice McCalish and Celia Ann Bradford; Samuel; Joseph and David McCoy wife Molly May Forester. John's daughter Louisa was still with family in 1860 census so other children may hve come to Alabama with John before 1846. I have not yet been able to identify John in the 1850 census So he may not have made it to Jackson County by then. Good Hunting Doris Mayer Reece Branchville Alabama

Listmembers, Perhaps I didn't make my self clear in my last message. I specifically posted the rules for the Surname Exchange. Apparently a lot of you didn't read it. So, here it is again. Please read it carefully before posting again. 1) You must put your SURNAMES IN THE SUBJECT LINE. (Not the word "surnames" but the actual surnames you are writing about). Do not use "roll call", "surnames", "exchange" or some other useless phrase. 2) No more than 3 surnames per message, however you can send as many messages as you like. 3) Remember this list is set to "reply to sender" and not "reply to list", so you can't post messages to the list just by hitting reply. You will need to use the list address which appears at the very bottom of each message posted to the list. Also, I encourage all the computer newbies to please learn the basics of your e-mail program before posting messages. Mistakes like the ones that filled my Inbox could have been avoided if you would just take the time to learn about your e-mail program. Also please read my "Listowner" messages carefully before posting. I try to word them in plain English and without a lot of techno babble. If you don't understand what I have posted then ask me. I don't mean to sound rude or snide, but it gets rather frustrating when I spend most of my online time using the delete key and sending reminder. For those of you who need help using your e-mail program, web browser, or computers/internet in general--RootsWeb has lists for these. If you would like the addresses and instructions, e-mail me privately and I will send you the info. Sincerely, Kim Ivey <kivey@companet.net> Listowner
