    1. [ALJACKSO] WADE, CRAIG, BLAKE, MATHIS
    2. Eldon Wade
    3. I am trying to find info on the Elijah WADE family. In 1830 Elijah was in Spartanburg SC but his wife and children were in Jackson Co AL. The whole family appear on the 1840 Morgan Co AL census, in the 6th Regiment area. This portion of Morgan Co (twp 6, 7,8) became part of Marshall Co on 12-5-1840. Elijah and his family were also on the 1850 and 1860 Marshall Co AL census. Elijah WADE m. Rebecca HAMES on 12-30-1823 in Hall Co GA. Rebecca was b. abt. 1802 SC and was the dau. of John HAMES and Charity JASPER. I think Elijah and Rebecca lived in GA from 1823 to 1825 (prob. Hall Co.) Known children of my Elijah WADE were: 1. Elizabeth WADE b. abt. 1825 GA, m. Nicholas BLAKE in Marshall Co in 1842 2. Unknown son b. bet. 1826 and 1830 3. Margaret WADE b. abt. 1827 AL, m. John BLAKE in Marshall Co in 1842 4. Nancy Caroline WADE b. abt. 1830, m. Jesse MATHIS in Marshall Co in 1847 5. Martha Ann WADE b. abt. 1833 SC, m. Claiborn C. WATERS in Marshall Co in 1854 6. William WADE (my gg-grandfather) b. abt. 1834 AL, m. Catharine CRAIG in Marshall Co in 1855 7. Unknown son b. bet. 1836 and 1840 8. Elijah WADE Jr and Elisha WADE (twins) b. abt. 1842 AL, Elijah Jr. m. Eliza BLAKE in Marshall Co in 1862 I am really interested in finding the parents of Elijah WADE. The last I can find of William WADE and his wife Catharine CRAIG is the 1860 Marshall Co census. Their son James appears on the 1870 Marshall Co census with his grandmother Nancy CRAIG. Any help finding William or Catharine would be very appreciated. Thank you for any help you may provide. 1. [ALJACKSO] It's Surname Sharing Time
    2. Kim Ivey
    3. Listmembers, I declare March 4-10, 2001 as Surname Sharing Time. During this time everyone is encouraged to post their surname queries. There are a few rules, please read them carefully before posting: 1) Surnames MUST be in the subject line. Please don't use "sharing", "my surnames", and other useless phrases. People are more likely to read your message if you put the surnames in the subject line. 2) No more than 3 surnames per message, but you can post as many messages as you like (well provided, you don't send 1,000 messages!). 3) Please use the list address (which appears at the bottom of each message that is posted to the list) to send new messages to the list. Hitting "Reply" will only send your message to the sender of the message you hit "Reply" to. This means that a message that you intended for the list will go to someone who has no idea what you're talking about. Now, lets get busy perparing our queries. Everybody have fun, and happy hunting! 1. [ALJACKSO] Estate of John MORRIS, Sr., 1844
    2. Leah Burkhart
    3. Does anyone on the list know where I would begin to look for the estate (probate) of John MORRIS, Sr., died July 16, 1844, in Jackson County, Alabama? His son, John Morris, Jr. was administrator of his estate. According to the state archives (ADAH), they only have probate minutes from 1856-1927 and will records from 1855-1929 for Jackson County. Were the records from 1844 also lost during the Civil War? One has an index but I can find no Jackson Kenemore. Do you have a full name? These Jackson County Kennamers are descended from Hans Kennamer of Kennamer Cove. They spell the name several different ways. It was something like Gheinemer to begin with. Charlie

    1. [ALJACKSO] Davis/Sanders/Suanders of Huntsville, Madison area
    2. Violet Cody
    3. Hi researchers, I'm desperately in need of some help down there. Thought I had Nancy Adalaide (I think ) Davis married to Joseph B . Sanders, a school teacher , who was appointed over my great-grandfather, William Davis age 6, and his baby sister age 3. I'm sure that I have a census that had them on it. Her sister Mary Elizabeth Davis married to Isaac W (Wesley-I'm informed) but that Mary Elizabeth was the one married to Joseph B. Sanders had a child named B. G. Sanders. After Mary's death married Mary Ann Sanders had a child named Joseph B. G. ( I do have the marriage record for thatMarried 11 Feb.1862 P. 161. I also have a land record where Nancy A. was married to Jesse King, I figured the second time. By the was Joseph B. Sanders was appointed guardian over my great grandfather and his sister. They were the babies of Joshua and "Anna" Davis born NC. We have lost first child Jane Davis, brothers Henry and George Davis. They were born Jackson Cty, but Joshua had acreage in Madison County. PLEASE HELP ME TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. Thank you so much. V. M. Cody
